When an investor sells shares at a profit, the fund manager will be paid a small percentage of the profit earned by the investor. Let’s say an investor buys a share in a fund for 100 USD and sells at 110 USD, earning a profit of 10 USD. If the fund’s success fee is 10%, the fund manager will take 10% of the profit earned, or 1 USD, as a reward.
