First of all there is no such a thing as a powerful indicator. The fact that you still haven't use it should tell you that you do not know how this indicator will work for you. Usually one indicator is not enough to make your decision on.

I guess it's a form of hedging-strategy but yeah seems good at first look but it is important to be selective in which news-events one goes for. Obviously, testing will have to be done to see how it performs over a period of time & to assess the factors that affect its profitability but at first sight, it seems like a nice strategy. Good luck!
