i actually prefer to trade using the 5 and 13 exponential moving averages in order to look for new trend establishments. i find it works quite nicely to find a trend change, and then i'll use some other price action analysis to verify this. this is to trade on shorter 5 minute to maybe 30 minute time frames at most.
