Do you invest using your own money? If the answer is yes, then you change the leverage anytime.

Ask your broker about this because all brokers have different rules when it comes to leverage.

All Forex traders are allowed to adjust the leverage without consent from the broker and regardless the size of investment.

Of course, you have an option to set the leverage at your own discretion. I have an unsolicited advice, please avoid using higher leverage due to the unforeseen circumstances.

What type of standard account? It depends if you are investing with your own penny. If it is a bonus account, then the leverage is already set by a broker and cannot be changed.

Do you still have money in your trading account? If yes, then you can change the leverage.
