Nice observation! Forex traders are usually hesitant to put huge positions ahead of a major news event, probably because they're waiting to see how that turns out first before deciding on their biases. You don't want to be caught up in a large short GBPUSD trade, for instance, not knowing if the upcoming UK reports could be good or bad for the pound, right?
